Sterling silver naturally tarnishes. To keep your Jodi Rae jewelry looking sparkling new follow the instructions and tips below.
Cleaning Instructions: Matte Jewelry: Use a Scotch-Brite pad (like the one used to scrub pots and pans, found at any supermarket or drug store). Gently rub the surface of your matte-finished jewelry. Run the pad gently along chains to remove tarnish while preserving the oxidized details. Do not rub any stones or gems with Scotch-Brite, as it will scratch the surface. Rinse with water and dry. Shiny Jewelry: Use a jewelry polishing cloth. Jodi Rae prefers Sunshine Cloths (available through Jodi Rae or at a jewelry store), which are chemically treated to leave behind a light protective anti-tarnish coating and won't harm stones or gems. Brushed Finish: Use a liquid jewelry dip (usually found at jewelry or drug stores). Dip quickly, rinse with water and dry. Repeat as necessary. Do not put any gems or oxidized jewelry in these dips, as it will strip the surface of color and finish. * If you are unsure about the type of Jodi Rae jewelry you have, simply contact Jodi Rae. Important Tips: ~ Always be gentle while wearing your jewelry. Though your Jodi Rae jewels are strong and durable, they can be damaged. Gems and stones in particular can be easily cracked or damaged if treated roughly. ~ Avoid wearing your jewelry in the shower and keep away from harsh chemicals. ~ Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom. Humidity and moisture will cause your silver jewelry to tarnish much faster. Want your Jodi Rae jewelry to look brand new but don't want to clean it yourself? Jodi Rae would be happy to clean and/or refinish your jewelry for a small fee. Please inquire about pricing for your specific pieces. |
